Keystone Cop Out
Despite a desperate need for construction jobs now, the Obama team is delaying a decision on building the Keystone oil pipeline for another year... mostly because those construction roadblocks could slow the President down as he heads to all his re-election campaign fundraisers.

Pot Crackdown
Cities in California now have the legal right to shut down medical marijuana clinics... but only if they want to force every nearby Taco Bell out of business.

Berkeley Shut Down?
"Occupy Cal" protesters are vowing to shut down the campus next week... until the university meets their demands or at least until midterms are over, whichever comes first.

Occupy Shooting
The Mayor of Oakland says the "Occupy" protests should end because someone was shot near the protesters' encampment last night. But by that logic, the city should have shut down the Raiders games years ago!

Panetta Warning
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta says sweeping military cuts would 'invite aggression' from abroad... although not as much as we would invite by re-electing Barack Obama.

November 11th

1675: Gottfried Leibniz demonstrates integral calculus for the first time, and thus flunks half of Germany in the process.

1805: 8,000 French troops attempt to slow the retreat of a Russian and Austrian force... but then start retreating with them as usual.

1992: The General Synod of the Church of England votes to allow women to become priests. No word yet on when it will extend the same privilege to men.
