Banking Solution
The mortgage crisis is getting so bad that now when you open a new checking account, instead of getting a new toaster the bank gives you a foreclosed home.

New documents show that the late Julia Child once spied for the U.S. government. That explains the tiny microphones she called for in her fruitcake recipes.



Dallas Reunion
J.R., Bobby, Sue Ellen and other members of the Ewing clan are getting back together for a "Dallas" reunion party this November. With these gas prices, it's not clear if this is a publicity stunt or just an excuse to get back into the oil business.



No Deal
Barnes and Noble is backing off its plans to buy out rival Borders. It wanted the added revenue, but didn't want to deal with any more Harry Potter groupies than it has already.



Anti-Snoring Device
Studies show that the use of a new anti-snoring device is on the rise in the U.S. It's not clear whether it's due to falling prices for the machine, or because this is an election year.
