558: In Constantinople, the dome of the Hagia Sophia collapses… forcing Emperor Justinian to move that year’s Super Bowl to the Superdome.

1847: The American Medical Association is founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They wanted to found it in 1844, but it had to sit in the waiting room for three years reading old magazines.

1998: Mercedes-Benz buys Chrysler for $40 billion, and spends the next 10 years working very hard to make it a company worth $20 billion.
